“Ghost Prison” is a supernatural thriller set at an abandoned prison located somewhere in the continental U.S. The former women’s penitentiary has a long and creepy history chock full of death--suicides, probable murders, unprovoked violence. The deaths that occurred over three decades had one thing in common--the victims were all WOMEN. And by all accounts there’s a distinctly female energy inside the prison, manifested by floral and other perfume-like fragrances, disembodied women’s voices and women’s apparitions. A real estate agent developer has purchased the prison from the state intending to demolish it and build a family community. Aware of the damaging rumors, he hires a renowned skeptic, Julie Bishop (Cara Buono, The Sopranos, Law and Order: SVU ), and her team to spend two nights in the prison for the purpose of nullifying its “haunted” reputation. Arriving at the prison Julie is surprised to find her estranged husband, Tom (Chris Martin), present with his own team of paranormal investigators. The two teams, one composed of skeptics, the other of believers, grudgingly accept each other’s presence and set about their tasks independently. But when they find themselves trapped inside the prison by the hostile energies they have to set aside their differences (philosophical and marital), pool their resources and battle the deadly entity together. Which ultimately forces husband and wife to reexamine their personal issues and reconnect as a couple.
